A ministerial visit to the heart of innovation

Our Pessac-based OliKrom headquarters recently welcomed Guillaume Kasbarian, French Minister for the Civil Service, Simplification and Transformation of Public Action. The visit, organized with the Club des ETI de Nouvelle-Aquitaine, highlighted local innovations and the technologies of tomorrow.

Based in Pessac, France, our company OliKrom specializes in the development of intelligent materials, including LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint, designed for safe mobility.

When innovation and public action meet

During his visit on November 25, Guillaume Kasbarian was able to discover our world and the expertise of our teams. Accompanied by members of the Club des ETI de Nouvelle-Aquitaine and local elected officials, the Minister praised OliKrom's commitment to sustainable innovation and its ability to push back the limits of materials to meet major societal needs, notably in road safety.

Exchange meeting: when innovation meets administrative complexity

The visit was punctuated by a round-table discussion featuring Guillaume Kasbarian, OliKrom founder Jean-François Létard, and several representatives of the Club des ETI and local and regional elected officials.

The aim: to shed light on the many administrative hurdles slowing down innovative companies.

Jean-François Létard shared the difficulties encountered in certifying our LuminoKrom® luminescent paint and obtaining the necessary authorizations for its deployment on road infrastructures. These discussions enabled us to identify ways of simplifying the process, so that innovative solutions that meet the challenges of safety and ecological transition are no longer held back.

LuminoKrom®: awaiting licensing for road applications

Despite its great potential for making night-time users safer and improving road safety, LuminoKrom® faces major administrative challenges. Our paint is still facing administrative delays in obtaining road certification and the right to use it.

This situation illustrates a paradox: a technology recognized for its benefits still has to wait before it can be fully exploited in the field. These obstacles hinder access to public infrastructures and limit the large-scale deployment of this innovation.

What revolts me today is that this luminescent paint is being exported all over the world. It's being used on cycle paths in France, in cities, on sidewalks, to replace the switching off of public lighting. But for the past two years, we've been banned from using it on roads!

Administrative delays: a brake on innovation

At this meeting, Guillaume Kasbarian listened attentively to the concerns of our team, and in particular those of Jean-François Létard, founder of the company. Together, they discussed possible solutions to speed up these procedures and make LuminoKrom® an indispensable tool in the service of safety and the ecological transition.

Guillaume Kasbarian has pledged to examine these bottlenecks with a view to speeding up procedures. This move reflects the government's determination to support innovative companies by facilitating their access to the market. For LuminoKrom®, this could mark the start of large-scale deployment, reinforcing the safety of soft mobility in France and beyond.

Recognition for innovative companies

This ministerial visit marks a significant step towards a better understanding of the needs of companies with innovative products like LuminoKrom®. We welcome Guillaume Kasbarian's commitment to simplifying administrative procedures, so that solutions like LuminoKrom® paint can finally play their part in making roads safer.

Many thanks also to the members of the Club des ETI and the local elected representatives present, who actively support our mission of innovation. Together, we hope to build a future where creativity and administrative efficiency go hand in hand.

Guillaume Kasbarian's visit to Olikrom symbolizes an important step in the dialogue between innovation and public action. LuminoKrom® perfectly embodies these promising solutions, which deserve administrative support to match their potential. Together, let's build a future where simplicity rhymes with creativity.
