The Vélodyssée crossing the Bassin d’Arcachon landscaped with LuminoKrom
35 km of the Vélodyssée illuminated by LuminoKrom® between Mios and Lège Cap-Ferret
Safe cycling by day and night
COBAN (Communauté d'Agglomération du Bassin d'Arcachon Nord) has completed the second phase of the Vélodyssée development on EuroVelo 1. After an initial 10 km section completed in June 2024, this new phase brings the total length of cycle path equipped with LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings to almost 35 km.
Applied by Signature, this marking now guides cyclists along a continuous luminescent line between Mios and Lège Cap-Ferret, ensuring safety and night-time visibility for both local residents and tourists.
Sustainable development for an exceptional cycle route
Thanks to its photoluminescent technology, LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, providing continuous beaconing with no energy consumption. This equipment helps to reduce the need for artificial lighting while enhancing cyclists' safety.
With almost 35 km now equipped, COBAN is continuing its commitment to soft mobility, making this section of EuroVelo 1 a model of sustainable, environmentally-friendly infrastructure.
