A first for us: LuminoKrom® luminous paint sets up in Australia!

An Australian first: LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint is transforming the night-time experience of pedestrian and cycle paths in Blacktown, near Sydney, with safer, more innovative spaces.

Thanks to our unique beaconing solution, Australia joins the many cities and territories around the world that are adopting our sustainable technology to improve night-time safety.

LuminoKrom® lights up night-time mobility in Blacktown

Blacktown, a dynamic city on the outskirts of Sydney, is renowned for being a place where pedestrians and cyclists play an important role in urban mobility. The pedestrian and cycle routes, which are often used both day and night, needed to be improved in terms of night-time safety.

Project objectives

• Improving night-time visibility: The pathways concerned, which previously had no lighting, are now illuminated by our photoluminescent paint, which is visible in the dark, without the need for electrical installations.
• Protecting vulnerable road users: Photoluminescent road markings offer pedestrians and cyclists a safer experience.
• Embracing sustainable innovation: Our fully autonomous and sustainable signage solution meets Blacktown's commitment to the environment.

Information and type of project

For this project, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint was applied to several sections of footpath and cycleway in Blacktown.

The almond-green photoluminescent paint used guarantees sufficient brightness to guide users throughout the night.

This pilot project focused on strategic areas where footfall is high and conventional lighting is limited, such as paths through nature parks and residential areas, or cycle paths linking public transport areas or community centres.

This first project in Australia marks a key stage in LuminoKrom®'s international expansion. After its success in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, Oceania was the only place left to welcome our luminescent paint.

This first application on the Oceania continent is symbolically located in Australia and testifies to the worldwide recognition of our innovation.
