[Ouest France] Greenway at Colleville-Montgomery: three questions about photo-luminescent markings
Since the end of July 2023, luminescent markings have been applied to the green lane running from the village to the beach along the RD60A in Colleville-Montgomery (Calvados). This marking has raised questions among users. We explain.
This path is part of the network of cycle paths linking the communes of the Côte de Nacre, developed by the Caen-la-Mer urban community. "We had to mark both sides of the path, and instead of white stripes, we decided, in agreement with the commune, to apply green photoluminescent paint, as the adjoining road has no public lighting. This system is encouraged by Ademe (Agence de la Transition Ecologique), as it helps to reduce electricity consumption", explains Romain Lacaze, project manager at Caen-la-mer's Infrastructure Department.
