A new type of road marking is being tested between Angerville and Pussay. This photoluminescent paint makes cycle paths safer without the need for street lamps. Whether it's early in the morning or late at night, before or after sunset, cyclists and pedestrians using the voie verte between Pussay and Angerville can use the ground markings to help them find their way. And that's thanks to the pale yellow paint used to mark out this 3 km asphalt path along the D838: it has the particularity of restoring at night the light stored up during the day, for up to 10 hours continuously.

LuminoKrom® tested in Essonne to make a cycle path safer at night

A cycle path in Essonne is currently being tested with LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint, our innovation designed to improve night-time visibility without the need for electric lighting. Applied directly to the lane, our paint captures daylight and releases it in the dark, offering an ecological and sustainable solution to enhance cyclists' safety. This project is in line with a soft mobility approach, while meeting the needs of areas with little or no lighting.

LuminoKrom® stands out for its ability to reduce energy and infrastructure maintenance costs while guaranteeing optimum visibility for users. This test in Essonne could inspire other local authorities to adopt this technology to promote environmentally-friendly mobility accessible to all.
