[RTBF] Will intelligent glow in the dark paint make tomorrow’s roads safer?
The RAVel at Lives-sur-Meuse has just benefited from this innovative technique: luminescent markings on both sides of the cycle lane. The primary objective is to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians on unlit roads.This is only the second time this technique has been used in Wallonia, but it could well become more widespread over the next few years, with the expected increase in cycle lanes and cycle highways.

It contains pigments that absorb light from the sun's energy during the day and re-emit it continuously, day and night. And at night, this marking is visible because there are no other external sources of light."
