Description

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Glow in the dark paint for metal

Do you want to improve the safety of a vertical or horizontal metallic surface ?

We have designed our glowing range, especially the glow in the dark paint for metals, to meet the challenges of safety and mobility in the dark. In the dark, it’s harder to find your way around, especially in an industrial or urban environment. It’s difficult to see urban furniture and fittings clearly, and they quickly become dangerous obstacles.

Glow in the dark coating, available in a complete range of colors and options, is quick and easy to apply to all metallic surfaces: iron, steel and other metals. Specially designed for this type of surface, our LuminoKrom® metal paint can be painted both indoors and outdoors to suit your needs. Available in green, white and yellow color variations, you can apply the desired area in the color you want to meet the requirements of your sector (industrial, urban or road).

PAINT PERFORMANCE

  • Highest brightness duration on the market (+10 hours)
  • Class G certified (CE ISO17398 standard)
  • Pigments recharge in daylight, even under cover in the middle of a forest or in poor conditions (rain, fog…), or artificially indoors
  • Recharge capacity in just a few minutes

APPLICATION

TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE PAINTWORK

It's essential to apply glow products over a first white coat. The white of this undercoat optimises the luminous radiation of the phosphorescent technology. To achieve high-quality marking, make sure you scrupulously follow the recommendations on thickness and weight provided with each of our paints, including our paint especially designed for metallic structures. If these recommendations are followed, there's no need to paint the area with several coats.

Following our application recommendations will guarantee long-lasting performance of our technology : more than 10 hours of luminous signage.

Generally speaking, applying an undercoat before painting an area is highly recommended not only to improve the paint's adhesion to the substrate, but also to protect metals such as iron, steel or any other type of metals from corrosion. This precaution is particularly crucial for so-called non-ferrous metals, which are often subject to poor paint adhesion.

Our reference for metals is applied by spray gun with nozzles adapted to this type of deposit.

LuminoKrom® phosphorescent paint is ready to use. It does not need to be diluted before painting.

Steps for applying metal paint

  1. Clean and roughen the environment in question (iron or other substrate). Rinse with water and allow the area to air dry before laying.
  2. Apply a first coat of white-color paint at a rate of 400 g/m².
  3. Allow the first coat to dry for 30 minutes. It is important to respect the drying time of the undercoat before applying our glow-in-the-dark paints.
  4. Prepare your equipment and homogenise the LuminoKrom® paint. This will ensure that the phosphorescent pigments are perfectly distributed in the matrix.
  5. Apply the coat of LuminoKrom® glow paint in accordance with the weight and speed recommendations given on the technical data sheet communicated with your order.
  6. Allow to dry for 45 minutes. Drying time may vary slightly depending on the environment and ambient temperature at the time of application.

ADVANTAGES OF USING GLOW METAL PAINT

Our phosphorescent paint for metals uses the principle of photoluminescence. The marking absorbs light energy during the day or under an artificial light source and glow in the dark as a diffuse visible when there is no lights. This type of paint is designed to adhere to metallic surfaces while offering unique luminescent properties in the dark.

It's quick and easy to apply, indoors or outdoors, by any applicator. Our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent products are specially designed to adapt to a wide range of surfaces and substrates and offer a long lasting luminescence capacity of more than 10 hours.

How to paint metal?

To cover metals, you need to use a special coating designed for metallic supports.

A metal paint is a type of coating specially designed to adhere to metals and protect them against external aggression: corrosion, rust, wear due to exposure to water, UV rays or temperature variations.

These paints can be applied to a wide range of items and metals such as iron, steel, aluminium and cast iron. They generally have different properties, such as rust and oxidation protection.

What surface should our LuminoKrom®  product be painted on?

These paints are used in a multitude of contexts, from the renovation of domestic equipment to the protection of industrial infrastructures. Painting with this type of product is particularly popular because of its ability to prevent corrosion and rust, which is essential for extending the life and maintaining the structural integrity of ferrous substrates exposed to the elements.

In an industrial or urban environment, our coatings are essential for signalling to users of indoor and outdoor structures such as bridges, signposts, storage tanks and heavy equipment. These products also have the ability, once applied to the desired area, to illuminate the structure when it is plunged into darkness.

LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking can be used on ferrous substrates where protection against corrosion is crucial, such as aluminium or iron.
