What is water-based paint?
Acrylic paint is a marking whose main solvent is water, making it more environmentally-friendly and easier to use compare to a solvent-based option. It is distinguished by its low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, reducing toxic emissions and unpleasant odors.
This marking uses water as its main diluent, unlike solvent-based paints which use solvents. This characteristic gives water-based paints a number of ecological and practical advantages.
These acrylic markings are an eco-responsible alternative, respectful of the environment and health. Thanks to their solvent-free nature, they represent a significant advance towards more sustainable and ecological practices in the coatings field.
What surfaces can water-based paint be used on?
Aqua-based paints are renowned for their versatility and suitability for use on a variety of surfaces and materials such as wood, plaster, metal...
They are ideal for applications on plaster partitions, offering a smooth, durable finish. They are also suitable for brick and concrete walls, both indoors and out, thanks to their excellent adhesion and weather protection.
Acrylic paints can also be applied directly to floors, as can their solvent-based versions. So you can paint on bitumen, asphalt, concrete or asphalt mix.
This product category offers many variations and options. In fact, numerous products are available to meet your needs in terms of appearance and finish.
When is LuminoKrom® luminescent paint used?
Our yellow glow in the dark technology is particularly useful in a variety of industrial contexts, where yellow is a color commonly used for signage and safety. Our glowing solution is ideal for improving visibility and safety in working environments, thanks to its ability to glow in the dark after being exposed to a light source.
In industrial environments, our technology can be used for floor markings to demarcate safety zones, traffic lanes and crosswalks in warehouses and factories. These markings help prevent accidents by remaining visible even in poor lighting conditions. It is also applied to stairs, handrails and safety equipment to ensure that these crucial elements remain visible in the dark, facilitating emergency evacuations.
Equipment and machines can also benefit from our phosphorescent marking to indicate hazardous areas or access points, increasing operator safety. In maintenance, our luminous solution helps to quickly locate necessary tools and components, reducing intervention time and improving operational efficiency.
For outdoor storage areas, the yellow LuminoKrom® reference marks aisles and loading zones, increasing safety and organization even after sunset or any power failure. In outdoor industrial areas, it guides workers in the event of a night evacuation, thanks to its extended visibility.
How long does LuminoKrom® luminescence last?
Each reference in our products range has its own luminescence time and characteristics. In the case of yellow aqua-based road marking, its luminescent properties will last for over 6 hours, in complete autonomy.
This luminous guide provides support and safety for night-time mobility, particularly for cyclists and pedestrians. Our glow in the dark technology works without the need for a power supply or any special maintenance. As soon as the area is plunged into natural darkness, or the temporary darkness of a power cut, the marking becomes luminous, thanks to the special pigments present in the material. These pigments have stored light energy during the day, and release it in the dark.
