A luminous fresco in Barèges thanks to LuminoKrom®
A photoluminescent work of art to enhance public spaces
The celestial nursery at Barèges: a marriage between art and light
In July 2024, the commune of Barèges (Hautes-Pyrénées, 65) welcomed a unique work of art by Raphaël Samakh, entitled “La pépinière céleste de Barèges”.
The fresco, applied to a variety of surfaces including an electricity meter, uses almond-green LuminoKrom® water-based photoluminescent paint. By day, the work reveals subtle, poetic motifs, while at night, it illuminates with an intense green hue, evoking a celestial forest in full effervescence.
Sustainable, innovative artistic creation
Thanks to LuminoKrom® technology, the fresco captures daylight and restores it for up to 10 hours at night, without any energy consumption. This artistic installation reflects the Commune de Barèges' desire to promote an original and captivating public space, by highlighting urban art in a new, luminous light.
