Illuminated markers to make night-time travel safer on the Île de Ré
A visible route for cyclists, even in poor lighting conditions
In June 2022, the Communauté de Communes de l'Île de Ré undertook a safety project for the cycle path along the route de Mouillebarbe in Ars-en-Ré. Applied by Signalisation 17, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings ensure optimum visibility of the route, making it easier for cyclists to get around, particularly in areas with poor natural lighting.
This makes it easier for users to find their way around, and reduces the risk of accidents on this route, which is popular with locals and visitors alike.
An ecological solution to preserve the island's environment
LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, guaranteeing energy-free night-time signage. This project fits in perfectly with the approach adopted by the Île de Ré, which favors eco-responsible solutions to secure its cycling infrastructures while preserving the beauty and biodiversity of its territory.
