Better night-time visibility for self-service bicycles

In June 2023, BIXI Montréal equipped 60 bikes in its network with a LuminoKrom® photoluminescent coating. Applied by T.R.A., this marking aims to improve night-time visibility for cyclists, particularly in low-light areas.

This initiative enables cyclists to travel in complete safety, while making it easier for other road users to find them.

A sustainable and innovative solution for a city focused on soft mobility

Thanks to LuminoKrom®, the paint absorbs daylight and restores it for 10 hours at night, guaranteeing improved visibility without energy consumption. This project is part of BIXI Montréal's approach to offering a safe, innovative and environmentally-friendly shared mobility service, encouraging the growth of cycling as an urban mode of transport.
