Innovative marking to support the city's energy transition

An alternative to street lighting for cyclists' safety

In July 2022, as part of its policy of switching off street lighting between 10pm and 6am, the Commune de Fontenay-le-Comte chose LuminoKrom® to make the cycle path on rue du Gaingalet safer. Under the project management of Colas and applied by Signalisation 85, this photoluminescent marking allows cyclists to travel in complete safety, even in the absence of artificial lighting, by guaranteeing increased visibility of the route.

A sustainable, environmentally-friendly solution

LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, providing effective signage without energy consumption. This project illustrates Fontenay-le-Comte's commitment to integrating ecological and innovative solutions to reconcile the reduction of light pollution with the safety of soft mobility.
