Haguenau, a luminescent bicycle path by night with LuminoKrom®

LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint on the Haguenau cycle path

In June 2020, the Communauté de Communes de Haguenau decided to improve safety for cyclists by launching an innovative project. A particularly accident-prone section of cycle path lacking street lighting was fitted with LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings. The 10cm-wide markings were applied continuously along the edge of the path, to provide visible light guidance at night.

Carried out by Proximark Alsace (Groupe Hélios), the work was designed to improve safety at a critical bend in the road, while respecting the environment. The project is part of an overall drive to innovate and improve urban infrastructures in the region.

LuminoKrom® benefits: safety and durability

The use of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint in this project brought significant benefits. Visible for up to 10 hours in the dark, this marking requires no power supply, reducing its carbon footprint and preserving the environment. By offering optimum night-time visibility, it considerably improves user safety, particularly in sensitive areas such as bends or unlit paths.
