LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint registered in Réunion
Creation of a safe bicycle path
In June 2021, the Département and Région de La Réunion undertook work to improve safety for cyclists on a track running alongside the RN1001, between the Rose des Vents and G1 roundabouts.
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint was applied by the Syndicat Mixte Parc Routier de La Réunion (SMPRR) to mark out this cycle lane.
An innovative solution for cycling infrastructure
LuminoKrom® paint captures natural or artificial light during the day and releases it at night, giving cyclists enhanced visibility on stretches of road with no street lighting. This luminous marking facilitates orientation, enabling users to anticipate bends and obstacles, and helps reduce the risk of night-time accidents. What's more, by eliminating the need for artificial lighting, this technology helps to protect the environment by reducing light pollution and energy consumption.
