Illuminated markings to guide cyclists in a protected green zone
A safe route with no impact on the night-time environment
In June 2022, the Communauté d'Agglomération de La Rochelle chose to equip a cycle path along the Avenue Jean Moulin with LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings.
This project, carried out by Signalisation 17 under the supervision of Eiffage, aims to replace artificial lighting in order to preserve the local ecosystem while guaranteeing the safety of cyclists. Thanks to this marking, users benefit from effective guidance at night, even in the absence of streetlights.
An innovative solution for gentle, responsible mobility
LuminoKrom® absorbs daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, providing continuous visibility without energy consumption. The project is part of La Rochelle's drive to promote sustainable mobility and limit the environmental impact of urban infrastructures.
By eliminating the need for electric lighting, the local authority is preserving local biodiversity while improving the safety of night-time travel.
