LuminoKrom® phosphorescent road paint applied at La Tour du Pin, Isère.

The use of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint on the cycle path in the town of La Tour du Pin is a perfect illustration of the need to improve the safety and efficiency of urban mobility at night. The main aim of this application is twofold: firstly, to clearly delineate the cycle path to separate it from the adjacent footpath, and secondly, to make it easier and safer for cyclists to get around after sunset.

By incorporating LuminoKrom® paint, which absorbs sunlight during the day and releases it again at night, the local authority is offering a sustainable and environmentally-friendly solution for lighting the cycle lane. Our technology allows continuous visibility without the need for artificial lighting, which helps to reduce light pollution and energy consumption. The clear distinction between the cycle lane and the footpath thanks to this luminous paint helps to prevent accidents, by offering users better orientation and a safe route during the night.

This initiative is particularly relevant given the increase in the use of bicycles and walking at night. It demonstrates the local authority’s commitment to innovative, environmentally-friendly mobility solutions, while considerably improving the safety and comfort of residents.
