LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint used as industrial safety markings at Lafarge Ciments

Lafarge Ciments, an established name in the cement industry, recently incorporated our safety innovation into its clinker production tower at Port-la-Nouvelle. They have decided to use our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint on their industrial site. Completed in September 2023, this specific application aims to optimise safety conditions for operators in the event of an emergency, particularly during sector breakdowns.

Within the complex enclosure of the tower, which comprises eight levels divided into three floors each, luminescent markings have been applied to trace a clearly identifiable escape route. This path is punctuated by arrows and luminescent directional pictograms that guide operators to the nearest exits. In the event of a power cut or reduced visibility, this innovative signage becomes crucial, as it allows employees to orientate themselves and follow the markings to the exit in complete safety.

LuminoKrom® paint was chosen for its ability to emit visible light several hours after being exposed to a light source, guaranteeing effective evacuation even in total darkness. This initiative by Lafarge Ciments underlines the company’s commitment to maintaining and continually improving safety standards within its facilities, while adopting cutting-edge technologies to protect its employees.
