An Australian first: LuminoKrom® makes soft mobility safer in Blacktown

Pedestrian and cycle paths visible even at night

On 16 January 2025, Blacktown City Council marked a major milestone with the first application of LuminoKrom® luminescent paint in Australia. Thanks to our distributor and partner TARSIOR, photoluminescent markings were applied to the Wardia Street and John Street footpaths and cycleways.

These self-contained, durable markings offer optimum night-time visibility, guaranteeing the safety of users in these shared spaces. This project underlines the effectiveness of LuminoKrom® in enhancing the safety of urban infrastructures throughout the world, particularly in poorly lit areas.

A sustainable solution for modern, secure infrastructures

With LuminoKrom® technology, Blacktown is adopting an innovative and environmentally-friendly lighting solution. By capturing daylight and releasing it for up to 10 hours at night, our photoluminescent paint offers a sustainable alternative to electric lighting.

This first application in Australia illustrates the commitment of our local partners to promoting modern, safe and environmentally responsible infrastructures. One more step towards integrating sustainable solutions into Australian cities!
