In 2022, the town of Mèze is stepping up its efforts in terms of sustainable urban development with the third application of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint. This time, following on from the application on the cycle path, the innovation was applied to the nosing of the steps of the main Yves Piétrasanta esplanade, a central location much frequented by residents and visitors alike. This project was carried out directly by the city's departments, demonstrating the municipality's commitment to eco-responsible solutions.
Our innovative marking captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours after dark, illuminating the esplanade steps without consuming electricity or emitting CO2. The green light emitted by LuminoKrom® makes it possible to clearly distinguish the contours of the steps, increasing safety and comfort for all pedestrian users at night. This enhanced visibility is particularly valuable at night-time gatherings, enabling individuals to move around the space with confidence, without fear of changes in level in the dark.
Mèze's initiative is part of a wider drive to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, reflecting the town's desire to promote environmentally-friendly practices while improving the quality of urban life.
LuminoKrom®: an eco-responsible solution for the future
In a context of energy transition, LuminoKrom® offers a sustainable, low-carbon alternative. By capturing light during the day and releasing it for 10 hours at night, this technology enables optimum visibility of steps without generating electricity consumption or CO₂ emissions. This project illustrates the municipality's commitment to reducing its ecological footprint while enhancing the safety of its citizens, a further step towards environmentally-friendly public spaces.
