LuminoKrom® photoluminescent installation on EuroVélo EV8, in Argelès-sur-Mer
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint for EV8 narrower beacons
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint is used on the Euro Vélo EV8 cycle path to enhance night visibility of unlit accident-prone areas.
Using LuminoKrom® paint is quick and easy to secure a site. LuminoKrom® luminous paint captures light during the day and glows for 10 hours.
Illuminated markings on Véloroute 8 are thus created on the constrictors / locks and STOP lanes, to enhance the visibility of this particularly delicate area at night.
A project to make unlit accident-prone areas safer
In July 2020, the Conseil Départemental des Pyrénées-Orientales undertook a project to enhance cyclist safety on the EuroVélo EV8 trail in Argelès-sur-Mer. The aim was to improve night-time visibility in accident-prone areas lacking street lighting. To achieve this, a 6 cm wide LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking was applied continuously to the narrowers and STOP strips of the track. The work was carried out by Moliner Sud Signalisation - AER, under the supervision of David Delpeyroux
The advantages of LuminoKrom®: an eco-responsible and efficient solution
The use of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint offers visibility for up to 10 hours in the dark, without requiring a power supply or generating CO₂ emissions. This innovative technology improves user safety by making critical areas more visible at night, while reducing light pollution. What's more, LuminoKrom® is quick and easy to apply, comparable to conventional road paint, making it a cost-effective solution for local authorities wishing to secure their infrastructures in a sustainable way.
"A bluffing result, a successful effect and enhanced safety" says David Delpeyroux (LinkedIn 2020) for this cycle arrangement on the Eurovélo EV8 carried out by the CD66 between Argeles sur Mer and Laroque des Alberes "with the application by our teams of the new luminescent paint process ".
