The Charente-Maritime department is continuing to make night-time travel safer with our LuminoKrom® road paint.

The town of Surgères, in the Charente-Maritime department, is a perfect example of the region’s commitment to innovation and road safety, with the introduction of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent road paint. This initiative is part of a wider regional development initiative aimed at extending the use of photoluminescent solutions across the department to improve visibility and safety on roads and cycle paths.

The application of this technology in Surgères, which follows on from many other similar projects in the department, shows how Charente-Maritime is leading the way in the adoption of innovative and sustainable solutions. LuminoKrom® paint, which captures light during the day and releases it again at night, makes road markings more visible and reduces the risk of accidents after dusk.

These improvements contribute not only to user safety, but also to the enhancement of urban and peri-urban space, encouraging the use of soft mobility and supporting a policy of sustainable development. The implementation of photoluminescence by Charente-Maritime demonstrates its commitment to ecological initiatives that benefit the whole community.
