LuminoKrom® paint on the SANEF “Bois d’Huez” Rest Area
Illuminated markings on the SANEF Rest Area "Bois d'Huez"
SANEF (Société des autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est de la France) deploys LuminoKrom photoluminescent paint on the Rest Area, Hamblain-les-Prés. The objective displayed is to reinforce the night visibility of a singular accident-causing point (concrete edge hunting wheel). LuminoKrom® luminescent marking acts as a light guide which helps to reinforce the vigilance of drivers.
In June 2019, Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l'Est de la France (SANEF) deployed LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint at the "Bois d'Huez" rest area in Hamblain-les-Prés. The aim was to improve night-time visibility of a concrete curb, identified as an accident-prone singular point. The luminescent marking, applied by Eiffage - AER Group teams, acts as a luminous guide, reinforcing drivers' vigilance in areas with no public lighting.
The benefits of LuminoKrom®: an innovative, sustainable solution
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint charges with natural or artificial light during the day and restores it at night, offering visibility for up to 10 hours in the dark without electricity consumption or CO₂ emissions. This technology improves road safety by making obstacles more visible at night, while reducing light pollution. What's more, it's quick and easy to apply, comparable to conventional road paint, making it an economical and environmentally-friendly solution for infrastructure managers wishing to secure their facilities in a sustainable way.
Feedback on the contribution of LuminoKrom photoluminescent paint
Speaking to the contracting authority (SANEF): "I was able to observe on site that the light captured during the day is well diffused at night. We can distinguish the rafters on the concrete wheel chaser at a fairly distant distance"
