Luminescent marking – Site information:

LuminoKrom photoluminescent paint was selected by the Municipality of Pessac Bordeaux Métropole to secure a cycling area. This is the Voie Verte between Avenue Jean Babin and Rue André Chénier (33600 Pessac, France). LuminoKrom® luminescent marking was applied over 2 km of the cycle path in a continuous central strip of 6 cm. At night, the markings act as a light guide which outlines the path of the track, enhancing visibility at night.

LuminoKrom® luminescent paint contributes to the quality of the facilities by improving the practicability of cycle routes all year round at any time, even in difficult weather conditions. This luminous markup reassures cyclists who visualize the course of the track, allowing them to anticipate the presence of a bend or an obstacle …

Feedback on the contribution of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint:

Marie, Cyclist user every day between home and work (Source TV7 Bordeaux)

“The trail goes through the forest and is very dark at night. Until now I avoided taking it in the winter when I got home from work. Since the track was painted, I take it much more often, I feel reassured. It’s amazing to see this tape light up in the middle of the night “

Eric Martin, Deputy Mayor of Pessac (Source La Tribune)

“Some people refused to take this cycle path and the residents demanded the installation of public lighting, but it was too expensive! To light this route, it would have been necessary to dig trenches, disturb tree roots and install relatively low light poles. Pessac was also the first municipality with more than 50,000 inhabitants to have tested, in France, the switching off of public lighting at night “
