Illuminated markings to guide cyclists in complete safety

A route optimized for night-time visibility

In July 2023, the Commune de Pléneuf-Val-André improved safety for cyclists by applying LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings to the central strip of the Boulevard Kennedy cycle path.

Produced by BSM, the markings offer improved night-time visibility, ensuring optimum tracking of the route and safer, smoother traffic flow.

An eco-responsible solution to encourage soft mobility

LuminoKrom® captures daylight and restores it up to 10 hours after dark, ensuring efficient signage without energy consumption. This project is in line with Pléneuf-Val-André's commitment to soft mobility and safe cycling infrastructures, while limiting environmental impact thanks to a sustainable and innovative alternative.

« Inspired by Swedish cycle paths, this technology enables cyclists to use these routes at night when the streetlights are out. These are the first phosphorescent cycle paths in Côtes-d'Armor. The eventual aim is to create a genuine cycle route, based on the Vélomaritime. »
