Prevost in Canada, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint registered in Quebec, in the city of Prévost.
A pilot project to make night-time travel safer
In August 2021, the city of Prévost, located in the province of Quebec, launched a pilot project to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety on several of its infrastructures.
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint was applied to the Clos prévostois trail, which is very popular with families and young people, as well as to a bike path and a parking area in the vicinity of the Gare de Prévost, the tourist site of the P'tit train du Nord. The work was carried out by T.R.A, a company specializing in road markings.
An innovation adapted to Quebec climatic conditions
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint is designed to absorb natural or artificial light during the day and release it at night, providing extended visibility in the dark without the need for a power supply. This feature is particularly advantageous for areas like Prévost, where climatic conditions can be harsh.
By improving the visibility of paths and cycleways, LuminoKrom® contributes to the safety of users, particularly vulnerable pedestrians and cyclists, by providing reliable light guidance in poorly lit or unlit environments. What's more, this solution respects the environment by reducing light pollution and blending harmoniously into the city's natural surroundings.
