LuminoKrom® to improve soft mobility on the track between La Lice and Betton
A safe cycle path for safer night-time travel
In April 2021, Rennes Métropole improved safety for cyclists by applying LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint to a section of the express cycle network linking La Lice to the Village La Forme shopping centre in Betton.
Applied by Aximum, this innovative marking enables users to better visualise their route in the dark, without the need for artificial lighting, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and improving their travelling comfort.
Sustainable development for a greener, safer city
LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for up to 10 hours after dark, guaranteeing optimum visibility without consuming energy.
This development is in line with Rennes Métropole's desire to promote sustainable infrastructure that is suited to soft mobility. By integrating this technology, the local authority is contributing to a safer, more eco-responsible and forward-looking city.
