Saint Paul in La Réunion, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking
Illuminated markings to guide cyclists along Ravine La Plaine
A safer cycling route, even at night
In June 2022, the Mairie de Saint-Paul (Saint-Paul town council) undertook the safe installation of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings on a cycle path running alongside the Ravine La Plaine.
Applied by the Syndicat Mixte Parc Routier de la Réunion (SMPRR), this marking improves the visibility of the route and provides effective guidance for cyclists, particularly in areas with poor natural lighting. It also enhances user safety and comfort, particularly during night-time journeys.
A sustainable solution for eco-responsible cycling infrastructure
LuminoKrom® captures daylight and restores it up to 10 hours after dark, guaranteeing continuous signage without energy consumption. This development is in line with Saint-Paul's commitment to promoting soft mobility and developing safe, environmentally-friendly infrastructures, while reducing the energy footprint of urban facilities.
