LuminoKrom® phosphorescent road paint is celebrating its first application in the Loire department (42).

The department of La Loire has recently undertaken to improve safety and accessibility for cyclists on the routes dedicated to them, with the application of our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint on a major cycle route between Roanne and Digoin. This innovative project in the department aims to improve the visibility of the cycle path during night-time hours, a growing concern for cyclists and local authorities keen to encourage sustainable modes of transport.

LuminoKrom® paint, which has been recognised for over 5 years for its ability to absorb daylight and release it at night, was applied to a major road that was considered accident-prone without lighting. It has been used to create illuminated signage to warn cyclists, for greater safety from Roanne to Digoin, even in the absence of public lighting. Our solution is ecological and sustainable. Not only does it increase safety by reducing the risk of accidents at sunset, it also helps to promote cycling as a viable alternative to motorised transport, thereby reducing the local carbon footprint.

The integration of our technology on this cycle route illustrates the Loire department’s commitment to adopting innovative, environmentally-friendly solutions to improve cycling infrastructure and support sustainable mobility in the region.
