To make its cycle network safer, the town of Poussan is using LuminoKrom® phosphorescent road paint on its cycle paths.

Following in the footsteps of neighbouring Mèze, the town of Poussan recently chose to upgrade its cycle network with our LuminoKrom® photoluminescent road paint. This decision marks a turning point in the development of infrastructure dedicated to soft mobility in the region, with the emphasis on safety and night-time visibility.

The LuminoKrom paint application at Poussan® is designed to illuminate cycle paths after sunset, using a technology that allows the paint to absorb daylight and release it again at night. This system provides natural, long-lasting lighting, giving cyclists and pedestrians better visibility and greater safety as they travel at night.

This project is part of a wider initiative by the town to promote the use of bicycles as an environmentally-friendly and healthy means of transport, by making night-time journeys as safe and comfortable as daytime ones. Poussan’s adoption of this innovative technology, following in the footsteps of the Mèze cycle path, demonstrates the growing commitment of local authorities in the region to supporting active mobility while taking into account the imperatives of safety and energy efficiency.
