A project to make night-time mobility safer
In November 2020, the city of Toulouse began upgrading the rue du Crabe cycle path with LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint. The marking, produced by Mozerr Signal teams, extends over 500 linear meters with a discontinuous central strip, complemented by bicycle logos. The aim of this project is to make night-time travel safer for cyclists and pedestrians by providing effective light guidance, particularly in areas without street lighting.
The benefits of LuminoKrom®: an environmentally-friendly, high-performance solution
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint harnesses the sun's renewable energy by capturing light during the day and releasing it at night, offering visibility for over 10 hours in the dark. This technology operates without electricity consumption or CO₂ emissions, helping to reduce light pollution and preserve the environment. Installation is quick and easy, comparable to conventional road paint, making it a cost-effective solution for local authorities. By transforming itself into a luminous guide as soon as night falls, LuminoKrom® improves user safety by enabling them to clearly visualize the course of cycle paths, anticipate bends or obstacles, and travel with complete confidence, even in the absence of street lighting.
