Urrugne, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent marking in the Basque region
LuminoKrom® makes a green lane in Urrugne safer
Effective signposting to guide users along the RN 10
In June 2021, Urrugne town council will be carrying out a project to improve the safety of night-time travel along a green lane linking the Château d'Urtubie to the Rue Bernard de Coral.
LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings, applied on a regular basis, ensure optimum visibility of the banks of the route, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to find their way easily, even in the absence of artificial lighting. This enhances the safety and comfort of users who use this route on a daily basis.
A sustainable solution for environmentally-friendly landscaping
Thanks to its innovative technology, LuminoKrom® stores daylight and releases it for up to 10 hours at night, without consuming any energy. This project is part of a sustainable mobility approach that reduces the need for continuous public lighting, while guaranteeing greater safety for cycling and pedestrian infrastructures.
Urrugne town council is thus demonstrating its commitment to responsible urban planning that is adapted to soft mobility.
