Innovative illuminated road markings tested over 3 years to make pedestrians and motorists safer
Pedestrian crossings and pavements that are more visible at night
In November 2021, Beaupréau-en-Mauges launched a 3-year experiment, in partnership with CEREMA, to improve road user safety. On rue du Stade, rue du Petit Manoir and rue d'Anjou, LuminoKrom® photoluminescent markings have been applied by Établissements Crépeau.
These markings ensure optimum visibility of pedestrian crossings, roundabouts and pavements, thereby reducing the risk of accidents, particularly in poorly lit areas.
A sustainable solution for local authorities
LuminoKrom® captures daylight and releases it for 10 hours at night, providing continuous visibility with no energy consumption. This experiment illustrates the commitment of Beaupréau-en-Mauges and CEREMA to testing innovative, sustainable solutions for making urban infrastructure safer. LuminoKrom® is thus becoming a major asset in supporting local authorities in their transition towards environmentally-friendly developments that are adapted to soft mobility.
